Tulsi Restaurant - All about Passion and Commitment
Welcome to Tulsi Restaurant, a culinary masterpiece born out of a passion for Indian cuisine and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Our story begins with the visionary founder, Mr. Ravi, whose culinary journey spans over four decades and has earned him the esteemed title of Ustaad (meaning Master in English & Shifu in Cantonese) among his colleagues and peers.
Mr. Ravi’s quest for culinary mastery led him to Hong Kong over 35 years ago, where he immersed himself in the vibrant local food culture. Through years of dedication and relentless pursuit of perfection, he honed his skills in adjusting flavors and creating exquisite dishes that captivate the palates of both Hong Kong locals and expatriates.
After years of serving others, Mr. Ravi ventured into realizing his lifelong dream of owning a restaurant. In 2010, he unveiled the first Tulsi Indian Restaurant in Quarry Bay, a testament to his expertise and love for Indian cuisine. Meanwhile, his elder son, Mr. Ravi Jaya Kumar, had pursued his own culinary career in one of Hong Kong’s finest hotels, specializing in western cuisine. With accolades such as winning a Silver in 2009 and a Bronze medal in 2011 at the Hong Kong Culinary Competition, Mr. Ravi Jaya Kumar joined his father in their shared mission of creating a brand that represents culinary excellence.
Their dedication and unwavering commitment soon paid off, as Tulsi Indian Restaurant received the prestigious Michelin recommendation for four consecutive years at the Quarry Bay and North Point branches. Encouraged by their success, they embarked on an ambitious journey of expansion, opening branches in North Point, Sai Ying Pun, Tai Po, and Tseung Kwan O.
Yet, their journey was not without its challenges. The global pandemic posed significant hurdles, and as a result, the Sai Ying Pun and Tai Po branches had to be temporarily closed. However, Tulsi Restaurant Group remained steadfast, weathering the storm with resilience and determination.
Today, Tulsi Restaurant stands as a shining symbol of culinary excellence, with a legacy built on passion, expertise, and the unwavering pursuit of perfection. Indulge your senses in the vibrant flavors, aromatic spices, and artful presentation that define our cuisine.
